DNA RESULTS
While the physical anomalies obvious in the Starchild Skull are
very impressive, only DNA results can absolutely prove that it
is other than human.
Early
DNA tests were unable to successfully recover DNA from the
Starchild's father, leading to the suggestion that the Skull was
a human-alien hybrid. However, the most recent tests have
uncovered DNA so different from human that the working theory is
now at minimum it is a new species, and very likely it is an
alien species of
extraterrestrial origin. |

1999 BOLD DNA Result
A 1999 test by the BOLD
laboratory found a very small amount of nuclear DNA that at the
time was believed to show that the Starchild was a human
male. Subsequent investigation has shown this result
was a contamination, and the BOLD result has thus been set aside.
2003 TRACE GENETICS Results
In 2003, Trace genetics
was able to isolate a small amount of human maternal DNA (mtDNA)
from the Starchild Skull, but could find no human paternal DNA
(no nuDNA could be recovered). The normal human skull found with
the Starchild provided easy recovery of both mtDNA and nuDNA,
which indicated that the Starchild's paternal DNA should be
recoverable. The fact that it wasn't provided an indication that the nuDNA was too different from human DNA to be found by the human
DNA recovery techniques used (primers). This led to the "human-alien
hybrid" theory discussed in the 2007 book "The Starchild
Skull: Genetic Enigma or Human-Alien Hybrid?" [This theory is now in
serious doubt because current genetic studies indicate the Skull is
entirely alien.]

2010 Nuclear DNA Results
A modified shotgun technique was used in 2010 to isolate
fragments of the Starchild Skull's nuclear DNA. This is
considered the first reliable (non-contamination) recovery of
the Starchild's nuclear DNA. The recovered DNA was compared to
the extensive National Institutes of Health (NIH) Database in the USA,
against millions of other DNA samples, and found to be unlike anything in the database.

2011 Mitochondrial DNA Results
The same technique
used to recover nuclear DNA in 2010 was also used to recover
mitochondrial DNA from the Skull in 2011. Mitochondrial DNA is
especially useful to researchers because it expresses extremely little
variation among all humans, and those rare variations occur in
well-understood locations. Thus, it is possible to compare the
Starchild's mtDNA in an apples-to-apples fashion against human
mtDNA. Of the few samples currently isolated, the Starchild's mtDNA is in the range of 800% different from human
mtDNA.

EXPLANATION
These results are so far from human mtDNA,
the projected results for a complete genome recovery strongly suggest
that the Starchild will be definitively proven as fully alien.
