Residue found in the Starchild Skull bone

RESIDUE IN THE STARCHILD SKULL BONE

In 2004 small sections of bone were snapped off of samples of the Starchild Skull's bone and the human female skull found with it. Those sections were then polished using lapidary tools, giving the first clear look at what is inside the bone free of drilling residue.

What was found was a strange reddish residue. After 900 years all normal bone marrow should have been consumed by latent bacteria, and if indeed any marrow had survived, it would be the black color of very oxidized blood. So far there is no explanation for this residue. In fact, it is so unusual there isn't even a protocol yet invented for removing it without contaminating the sample, so at this stage no testing of the residue has been undertaken.
